Abstract

This study analyzes the contributions of government policies to the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Namibe province. Through a qualitative approach, based on a literature review and data analysis from the National Institute for Support to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (INAPEM), government policies and the current situation of local MSMEs are examined. The results highlight the predominance of micro-enterprises in the local economy, as well as their distribution by economic sector, with an emphasis on trade and service provision. Additionally, the institutional support provided by INAPEM is identified, including financing, consulting, and business training. It is concluded that government involvement and the implementation of economic stimulus policies are crucial to promoting the sustainable growth of MSMEs, diversifying the local economy, and contributing to the economic and social development of the province and the country as a whole.
