The aim of this study was to analyze the main factors conditioning the growth of entrepreneurial activity in the Municipality of Cazengo, considering entrepreneurship as a driver of economic and social development. A quantitative, descriptive and exploratory methodological approach was adopted to investigate the challenges faced by local entrepreneurs, analyzing factors such as previous business experience, sources of funding, local development and political influences, using structured questionnaires as the main data collection tool. The results showed that lack of previous business management experience and limited access to sources of finance are the main obstacles to entrepreneurial growth. In addition, insufficient local development infrastructure and political instability were also identified as critical factors hindering the expansion of entrepreneurial activities. It is concluded that although entrepreneurship is recognized as a driving force for innovation and wealth, it is essential that local governments and institutions implement support policies, such as training programs and access to credit, in order to overcome these challenges. This study contributes to an understanding of the obstacles to entrepreneurship in local contexts, offering subsidies for the formulation of strategies that promote sustainable economic development.
