Frequency Of Tuberculosis in patients treated at the specialized endemic and pandemic treatment center in Luanda from july to december 2022.

Tuberculosis is a serious infectious disease associated with a high risk of death, caused by Koch's bacillus, transmitted by aerosol inhalation, primarily affecting the lungs, killing one person every 18 seconds worldwide, its definitive diagnosis depends on the isolation and laboratory identification of Mycrobacterium tuberculosis. A descriptive observational study was carried out using probabilistic convenience sampling to select the sample, which allowed data to be collected from the files of the patients selected in a systematic random way with a survey step of 3. The data was obtained from 233 files that met the inclusion criteria, the data was scanned into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, then exported to SPSS software version 25.0 where were estatiscally analyzed to generate frequency tables and graphs. From analysis, it was observed that of the total of 5.154 patients treated at the Specialized Centre for Endemic and Pandemic Treatment in Luanda, 591 (11.5%) patients had a positive diagnosis of tuberculosis during the study period, where most patients were male 122 (52.4%), with a predominance of the 30-39 age group with 54 (23.2%) cases, coming from the municipality of Cacuaco with 36 (15.5%). Pneumonia was the disease most associated with tuberculosis (13.7%), pulmonary tuberculosis had the highest incidence (57.5%), and pain when breathing was the reason for most patients were hospitalized (30.7%). More than half of the patients (52.4%) recovered their health and 22.7% died.
