The Influence of Leadership on Organizational Communication: the case of the Zedequias Manganhela Secondary School (Maputo City-Mozambique)

The present work aims to understand how leadership influences organizational communication: the case of the Zedequias Manganhela Secondary School (City of Maputo-Mozambique). The descriptive research with a qualitative approach had a totalof 15 employees as a sample, of which 11 were professors and 4 members of the administrative staff, seven (7) of whom were female. Research results show that employees do not always participate in the decision-making process, and, in the communication process, information flows from top to bottom and never the other way around, a fact that leaves no room for providing feedback to employees. In general, with regard to communication barriers, respondents pointed to bureaucracy and information retention as being the most common issues for them during the communication process and pointed out the non-occurrence of conflicts.
