ABSTRACT
Access to finance is one of the main challenges faced by micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in the commercial sector in the province of Uige, directly influencing their sustainability and growth. The objective of this study is to analyze the financing modalities used by micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in the commercial sector in the province of Uíge. Companies carry out their financing through the available financing modalities and that have the lowest possible costs, adhering to financing alternatives that bring greater comfort and financial stability and depending on the opportunity cost. A quantitative and qualitative method was applied with the support of the questionnaire technique for data collection; these were statistically analyzed using SPSS 29. It was noted that the main difficulties when applying for financing from Government programs are the excess of bureaucratic aspects and too much waiting time for the granting of values, and from the banks are the excess of bureaucracy and high interest rates. These companies have a capital structure based on the theory of pecking order, obeying a hierarchy of preference of the sources of financing available to the company. In this study we contribute, indicating the most appropriate financing modalities for MSME's in the commercial sector of this Province, such as self-financing, venture capital and financing modalities from Government programs. For future research, they can address the causes of high interest rates, excessive bureaucracy and too much time for granting values in this province.
