Family Farming in the Municipality of Paranaguá: A Photographic Essay

This study aimed to highlight, through a photographic essay in storytelling format, the relevance of family farming in the coastal region of Paraná. The goal was to raise awareness of its significant contribution to regional economy, food security, environmental preservation, and sustainability, demonstrating the feasibility of agriculture that respected the ecosystem. The photographs documented various stages of this practice, from harvesting to selling products at local markets, highlighting farmers' concern for processes and work environment. Additionally, they illustrated families' adaptability to the unique geographical and climatic conditions of the region, emphasizing their innovation and resilience. The study also emphasized the need for recognition and support for this form of agriculture, underscoring its multifaceted role in society. The results were presented through a photographic narrative, capturing agricultural practices, life stories of local farmers and vendors, as well as the challenges and achievements of the involved families. It was concluded that family farming in the coastal region of Paraná not only boosted the local trade of fresh and native products but also contributed to ecosystem preservation and promoted emotional awareness among regional residents through direct sales at markets and participation in agroecological events.
