This article is an excerpt from ongoing research into the contribution of public policies to reducing youth unemployment in the district of Quelimane. It is based on the initiative of the “My Kit, My Job” program. The work aims to study alternatives for employment opportunities for young people in Quelimane. Starting from the question: what is the contribution of the My Kit, My Job Program to facilitating services to youth in the district of Quelimane. The study is being developed through qualitative research with an exploratory nature with the general objective of analyzing the employment opportunities offered by the initiative and its impact on the empowerment and inclusion of youth in the job market. Its population is young people from the district of Quelimane. Among the participants are 6 young people who benefited from the program under analysis. Interviews and document analysis were used to collect data, which were treated through Bardin's content analysis (2011). The partial results reveal that the aforementioned program has played an important role in providing employment opportunities for youth. Those who received the toolkit had the opportunity to begin their economic self-sustainability activities in sectors such as home repairs, gardening, beauty, etc. In addition to providing the means for young people to start their own “business”, the program also allows them to develop specific skills through the training offered by the program, increasing their employability and chances of success as a future professional. This approach to training and encouraging entrepreneurship highlights the importance of public policies aimed at the insertion and professional development of youth.
