Abstract

In this article, aim to problematize the element of gender encouragement: A Nation empowered by Kurdish feminists. This theme has been understood as a predominant phenomenon and generator of qualitative changes in the current context of globalization and governance in international relations. In Fraser's (2022) approaches, contemporary globalization has not only intensified the challenges to democratic governance, but has also opened up new spaces, institutions, and discourses where universal human rights assert themselves as central justifying principles. However, the frequent approach to Kurdistan has been around for some time, as has the terminology empowerment, a neologism derived from the English empowerment. Until 2013, the term was not as widespread as it is in the current context, in which it has attracted interest from various areas, including the media and the corporate environment. According to UN Women (2023) and Kabeer (2020), empowerment discourses aim to promote gender equality, encourage female participation in social activities, and reduce discrimination and physical violence. The relevance of this phenomenon has broadened the focus in the context of globalization and the governance of international relations, driving dynamics both in services and in the emergence of new feminist ideals. Thus, it is intended, at first, to reflect on the encouragement of gender from the perspective of Kurdish feminists, considering their preponderant performance in the armed forces; and, secondly, to understand its influence on a global scale.
