Abstract

The standardization of processes and procedures raises many concerns on the part of companies and their contribution to ensure greater competitiveness in the market and create support in their business becomes the main agenda of companies that are concerned with producing quality and quantity. The present study reveals that companies face several problems such as process variability, internal communication failures, dependence on specific people to perform certain tasks, waste of time, non-compliance with deadlines, among others. The actions taken in process standardization should be able to correct any failures that may occur in production operating activities to provide better quality products and services, meeting customer expectations. Standards, procedures and supporting business processes are tools used by companies to promote the production and sale of their products or services, thus contributing to better results in terms of objectives. It will serve as a study base, the literature review and case examples of companies that compete in various markets.
