Abstract

Fundamentals of command and leadership in patrolling conservation areas is the set of rules used in categorizing the exercise of authority conferred on the administrator, the head of operations and groups in relation to the inspectors in the process of directing, coordinating and controlling parks, reserves, hunting ground and game range. Studying these fundamentals and their relationship with the National Administration of Conservation Areas was carried out in order to understand the challenges faced and the command and leadership procedure performed in the exercise of their functions. In order to achieve this objective, the questionnaire inquiry via online was privileged, where the data were processed in the SPSS statistical package in order to analyze variances and construct graphs and tables. The results point to 85.7% of the task being performed in adverse weather conditions and in areas with difficult force movement as the main difficulties in the patrolling exercise. Regarding the command and leadership procedures, the data show that the Administrators, the Heads of Operations and Parks and Reserves Group perform 100% the reception of a new mission, the issuance of the Preparatory Order, the beginning of the movement of the force, recognition and supervision activities. In addition to these activities, the data show that 71.4% draw up the Provisional Plan and 61.9% issue the Plan or Order of Operations and the Plan is not complementary. And, the study recommends that the Administrators and the Protection and Inspection Office carry out the finalization of the plan to allow the actions to be disseminated and to ensure the engagement of the inspectors in the provision of logistics in future inspection actions.
