Abstract

The use of manipulable materials in mathematics classes is extremely relevant because it helps the student to observe, analyze and build their own knowledge. In this perspective, Quali-Quantitative research involving 120 students of the 8th grade was carried out in the Lhanguene Secondary School, with the objective of analyzing the contribution of the proposed manipulable material to the demonstration of the theorem about the ex-inscribed angle in a circumference. The main techniques and instruments for data collection consisted of applying pre-test, post-test as well as registration of some students' behaviors and reactions. The data obtained from the tests were processed using the statistical software SPSS version 25. From the results provided in the post-test the experimental class had 12.2585 and the control class had 10.4492 mean. the application of the manipulable material had a very large effect therefore, the results obtained highlight the relevance of this tool in teaching and learning mathematics.
