Abstract

This article Aims to reflect on the actions developed by the School Council in Mozambique, the highest governing body and innovator of school management. It is an exercise that explores the process of generating innovative ideas from communities, in the context of solving school problems. The research is bibliographic, as it is developed from bibliographic sources, analyzed and systematized in narrative texts. As a result of the study, the role of the School Council is evident, a body that ensures a participatory and transparent management, adjusting the guidelines and goals established at central and local level to the reality of the school and the community. In addition, it is creating conditions for innovation in school management: the planning and organization of activities, as well as direction and control, to be carried out in an environment of regular exchange of ideas between the school and the community, up to the decision-making and implementation phases of consensual or approved ideas. In this sequence, it was concluded that the intervention of the School Council adds value to the school management process, through the use of innovative actions that contribute significantly to the improvement of the quality to teaching.
