Analysis of Total Quality Management of Education in Higher Education Institutions in Maputo

Abstract

The global objective of this scientific article is to analyze the total quality management of education in higher education institutions A, B and C in Maputo. As well as showing the fundamental importance of seeking to organize and standardize the production processes or execution of the product or service, in addition to maintaining high performance in service, which generates customer satisfaction and loyalty and prominence in the market. As for the methodology, the sample was composed of 56 (fifty-six) people, of which 45 (forty-five) permanent and occasional professors, 7 (seven) coordinators, directors of the courses of the IES's A, B and C, who are teaching in the courses, as well as those who work in these institutions and 4 (four) academics and researchers in Maputo, the interpretative analysis that had the support of two fundamental aspects, that is, the results achieved in the study, the theoretical basis and personal experience (student). In the statistical program SPSS, version 16, whose information was compiled using Excel and word, relying on the elaboration of graphs. Regarding the results in HEI A, knowledge of the strategic actions developed to improve the quality of education in the HEI, 42.1% answered "yes", against 57.9% who answered "no" to the question. Following the questionnaire, the teachers were asked whether there was a pedagogical project and mandatory internship curriculum, and 37.5% of the respondents answered "yes" against 62.5% who answered "no" In general, it was concluded that in relation to the fourth specific objective, on the benefits of total quality management in higher education institutions A, B and C in Maputo, it was perceived that it brings improvement in processes, services; improvement in the image of the HEI (marketing) and customer satisfaction.
